    The goal The subject should enable students to acquire knowledge about: all types and varieties of tobacco that are grown in Serbia; quality parameters of tobacco leaf; technological operations and procedures in tobacco processing. Students should be able to: classify all types of tobacco leaf; perform analytical methods for determining sensory, physical and chemical properties of tobacco leaf.
    The outcome Students should be able to understand and explain:differences between tobacco types and varieties from Serbia; the impact of growing conditions on tobacco quality;classes of chemical components in tobacco leaves;differences in processing procedures of tobacco basic types;analytical methods for tobacco quality control;relationship between sensory,physical and chemical properties of tobacco leaf.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Types and varieties of tobacco; classification of tobacco; tobacco leaf position; basic production areas of each type of tobacco ; sensory, physical and chemical characteristics of tobacco leaf; technological processes of drying, fermentation and eging; changes in characteristics during tobacco processing stages; packaging and storage of processed tobacco.
    Contents of exercises Identification of tobacco types and varieties, classification of tobacco; sensory and physical characteristics of tobacco leaf: differences in physical characteristics among tobacco types; basic chemical constituents of tobacco leaf and differences in chemical composition among tobacco types; leaf surface chemistry.

    Methods of teaching Theoretical and practical teaching in combination with interactive teaching will be held in all areas. The course has three test exams and the colloquium at the end of practical classes.
