The goal The course provides students with the necessary knowledge of the phenomenon of fluid behaviour, heat and mass transfer in multiphase systems, for process analysis in process engineering.Students get acquainted with the essence of these phenomena, the mathematical apparatus used for their representation and analogies between the transfers as part of mathematical modelling and process optimization.
The outcome Mastering the basic phenomena and specific terminology of the transfer process, the ability to practically apply the acquired knowledge and calculation methods in specific problems of process technology (chemical engineering) to solve specific problems in development and research practice and the ability to use relevant literature and existing software.
    Contents
Contents of lectures Transport characteristics.Transfer in the general concentration field.Fluid behaviour, mechanisms, transfer equations, boundary layer.Heat transfer, mechanisms, special cases, transfer equations.Mass transfer, mechanisms, diffusion and convective mass transfer equations.Heat and mass transfer with phase transformations, interphase transfer,non-stationary transfer and analogies between transfers.
Contents of exercises Elaboration of typical calculation examples from the mentioned teaching material, practice of methods modelling, design and process optimization and application of appropriate user software.

Methods of teaching Theoretical and practical teaching is conducted using modern presentation methods with the active participation of students. Studio research work includes solving tasks and applying software for individual and team solving of specific problems through the creation of independent exercises. Verification of acquired knowledge is by taking two knowledge tests.
