    The goal The course should enable the student to acquire knowledge about minor fruit species (which are not grown in Serbia or are grown to a limited extent, mostly in the backyard), their economic importance, morphological characteristics, chemical composition, nutritional and medicinal properties, varieties, environmental requirements, as well as their cultivation.
    The outcome The student should be able to know less important species of temperate, subtropical and tropical fruits, their use in human nutrition and the effects on human health, environmental requirements, as well as the cultivation technology.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The course is divided into three chapters which include: 1) Introductory part; 2) Continental fruit species; 3) Subtropical and tropical fruits. Within each fruit species, the following areas will be covered: systematic place, economic importance, morphological characteristics, chemical composition, nutritional and medicinal value of fruits, varieties, ecology and cultivation technology.
    Contents of exercises The practical part will include the morphology of fruit trees, which includes the morphological characteristics of the tree, leaves, flowers and fruits. During the exercises, students will be able to recognize different species of fruit trees. At the end of the semester, one field visit is planned.

    Methods of teaching Theoretical and practical classes in combination with interactive teaching will be held in all areas. During the practical classes, a colloquium should be done.
