The goal | familiarization with: different groups of animal vectors of plant pathogens (insects - Homoptera, Thysanoptera, Hemiptera, mites, nematodes and fungi), morphology and anatomy of vectors, ways and routes of transmission of viruses, phytoplasmas, bacteria and fungi, basic measures to fight against vectors.
The outcome | the course should enable the student to acquire: knowledge about the vector role of invertebrates and fungi, their morphology, anatomy, reproduction and development; knowledge about basic groups of pathogens; characteristics of pathogen-vector interaction, the skills to recognize and monitor vectors of plant pathogens, teamwork and cooperation, critical thinking.
