    The goal To enable the students to understand the logic of double-entry bookkeeping, general accounting concepts and principles, means of recording usual business transactions in accordance with the official accounting framework and chart of accounts, and to prepare basic financial reports and interpret their information.
    The outcome A student who successfully completes this course will be able to: - explain the difference between the elements of financial statements, - apply the double entry accounting principle, - apply accounting techniques and procedures in accordance with the official accounting framework, - determine the financial result, - prepare the basic balance sheet and income statement of the company.

    Contents of lectures 1. The role and importance of accounting in corporate economy 2. Users of accounting information and accounting regulation 3. Recognition of business transactions 4. Capital and liabilities 5. Property 6. Expenses and income 7. Calculation of financial result, profit distribution and loss coverage 8. Fundamentals of financial statement analysis and modern performance measurement systems.
    Contents of exercises Practical part of the course will include the recognition of business transactions in accordance with the official chart of accounts and compilation of financial statements, as well as the basics of financial statement analysis for relevant companies in the world and in Serbia.
