The goal | Understanding the importance and impact of land reclamation on food production, increasing the value of land. Introduction of methods for improving the soil - water relation, drainage and irrigation systems, the soil erosion control, risk management. The student should consider the size of investments as well as to learn to calculate operating costs and maintenance costs of reclamation systems.
The outcome | The student should demonstrate the skill of connecting theoretical knowledge with the proper methods of soil reclamation, drainage, irrigation and soil erosion control; to understand the increase in the value of land, to know the parts of the irrigation and drainage system, the lifespan for the needs of preparation of investment-technical documentation, to calculate the operating costs.
