    The goal Acquiring knowledge about new methods of plant water status monitoring, to use new techniques and methods of irrigation. The students should learn how to set up experimental design based on scientific principles, apply appropriate equipment, techniques and methods to assess the technical performance of irrigation systems, the use of information technology and scientific literature.
    The outcome The student should master the skill of recognizing new technologies and methods in the field of irrigation, yet to pose the question of interest for research, to find and analyze adequate scientific literature, then set working hypotheses and select adequate research methods from the field irrigation.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Plant and microclimate; Crop water consumption; dual crop coefficients; soil evaporation; evapotranspiration; sensitive phases to drought, plant responses to water, coefficients of yield reduction; allowed soil moisture depletion for the staple crops, plant water stress index; Remote sensing - vegetation indices - irrigation system performance.
    Contents of exercises Practical analysis of scientific papers, training for the use of modern measuring techniques and methods in laboratory, computational methods and IT tools.
