    The goal The aim of the course is to enable students to gain knowledge about: the modern technological procedures of exploiting all parts of tobacco plant and technological operations in tobacco processing and cigarette production; the methods that can influence the yield and composition of cigarette and environmental smoke; types of additives for tobacco products and principles of their influence.
    The outcome Upon course completion, students should be able to understand and explain: concept of the tobacco usability; all modern technological procedures for making tobacco products; methods and and ways in which the amount and composition of tobacco and environmental smoke can be influenced; sensory properties of tobacco products and apply modern analytical methods of quality control.

    Contents of lectures Tobacco usability; Tobacco leaf chemistry; The final tobacco treatment; Cigarette; Basic technology of cigarettes production; Modern principles of cigarettes production; Cigarette smoke and principles of smoke modification; Bio-active components of tobacco and environmental smoke; Waterpipe and influence of mixture composition on smoke components formation; Sensory properties of tobacco products.
    Contents of exercises Simulation of the production of tobacco products used for pleasure; Introduction to independent study research work; Modern analytical methods for controlling the quality of raw materials and final products.
