    The goal This module shall enable students to: acquire knowledge on insect pests and deceases in organic production of crops and vegetables, methods of plant protection and the use of permitted and recommended pesticides; get introduced to regulations and ordinances of the European Union and our country.
    The outcome Students are expected to show their knowledge of: most important insects, mites, nematodes, fungi, bacteria, viruses and phytoplasmas that may appear in organic plant production; bio-ecological characteristics of most important insect pest and deceases, prognosis of their occurrence, monitoring and the choice of preventive and direct measures in the fight against pests.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Introduction, basic principles of plant protection in organic production; Regulations and ordinances in the European Union and our country; Most important insect pests and deceases in organic plant production, monitoring and prognosis of occurrence of insect pests and deceases; Plant protection against insect pests in organic production of crops and vegetables.
    Contents of exercises These classes include training courses and research work in the field and in the lab respectively.

    Methods of teaching Lectures in combination with interactive teaching will be applied in all teaching chapters. One seminar paper from the chapter Protection in Organic Production of Field Crop or Protection in Organic Production of Vegetable is obligatory.
