The goal | Introducing students to water-logging processes, with special reference to the causes, extent and types of occurrence of excess water in soils. Acquiring basic knowledge that will enable students to produce land reclamation/soil studies. Familiarization with the nature of and methods for determining drainage criteria. Assessment of the impact of applied drainage measures on the environment.
The outcome | Detailed understanding of water-logging and correlations between the hydrologic cycle and soil. Ability to independently produce soil drainage studies, appling methods for determining drainage criteria in practice. Detailed understanding of the key aspects of the environmental impact of drainage and the ability to analyze and assess the impact of drainage.
