The goal | This course will provide knowledge and understanding of the characteristics, origin, distribution, and harmful effects of the inorganic and organic contaminants in soil and water. Students will also gain knowledge about the measures taken for the protection of soil and water from pollution, as well as the understanding of legislation relating to the content of major pollutants in soil and water. | |||
The outcome | Students will be trained in the laboratory to examine the contents of some major pollutants in soil and water, giving a more complete assessment of the quality of soil and water in terms of their use in agricultural production. They will also acquire the skills of proper handling with appropriate measuring devices. | |||

Contents of lectures | Ecology: Environment - ecosystem; Negative changes in the system; Inorganic pollutants of soil and water; Organic pollutants of soil and water; Analytical methods: principles of methods for determining pollutants in soil and water; Alternative, renewable energy sources - constructive thinking and application in agriculture. Methods of teaching | Teaching methods: class teaching methods, laboratory exercises, and methods of interactive teaching. During theoretical and practical classes, tests and colloquiums are envisioned after major chapters. Seminar work is envisioned as well. | |||
