The goal The course should enable the student to gain knowledge about the importance of the bioremediation process, understand the role of microorganisms in the processes of removing organic pollutants from damaged ecosystems and transforming heavy metals from contaminated soils, getting to know the principles and techniques of bioremediation and their application in modern agricultural production.
The outcome The student should be able to choose the bioremediation technique and evaluate the role of microbes in the degradation of the organic compound; explain how environmental conditions affect the bioremediation process, describe the role of microbes in the transformation of metals, design an experiment in the field of bioremediation; evaluate the benefits and risks of bioremediation
