      The goal The subject should enable students to acquire knowledge and skills related to: modern technological procedures for usage of all parts of tobacco plant; technological operations in tobacco processing and manufacturing; types of additives for different tobacco products and principles of their action; environmental smoke; new technologies in order to reduce harmfulness of tobacco smoke.
      The outcome Students should be able to understand and explain: the usability of tobacco; modern technological procedures for making tobacco products; methods in which the amount and composition of tobacco and environmental smoke can be influenced; sensory properties of all tobacco products; analytical methods of quality control of raw materials and final products; new products - electronic cigarette and IQOS.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Tobacco usability; tobacco finishing; tobacco leaf chemistry; modern principles of cigarette making; smoke/extract; biologically active components of tobacco smoke; environmental smoke; pipe and water pipe; electronic cigarette; IQOS; modifying the composition of tobacco smoke; sensory properties of tobacco products.
      Contents of exercises Simulating the process in the production of tobacco products used for consumption; introduction to independent study of literature; modern analytical methods of quality control of raw materials and final products.
