    The goal Gained in-depth knowledge about the theoretical background of water flow in vadose and saturated zones. Ability to design drainage systems and assess and troubleshoot operating drainage systems. Recognition of the need for testing and knowledge about drainage system testing methods. Ability to conduct research.
    The outcome Detailed understanding of the theoretical principles of water flow through a porous medium and familiarity with drainage system design and testing principles. Ability to create and revise project documentation, conduct supervision during the construction of drainage systems, maintenance and use of drainage systems. Ability to set up experiments and interpret the obtained results.

    Contents of lectures Steady/unstady Flow in Saturated/Unsaturated zone; Steady State and Unsteady-State Equations. Methods of calculating drain spacing; Drain envelopes; Salinity Control. Drainage testing: Purpose and methods of testing. Testing of single drain lines. Testing of drainage systems.
    Contents of exercises Steady/Unstady Flow in Saturated/Unsaturated zone (examples). Drainage equations (examples). Drain Filtars. Drainage testing (examples).
