    The goal Significance of plant diseases in fruit and grapevine production; basic features of plant pathogens (fungi, pseudofungi, bacteria, phytoplasmas, viruses); development of a plant disease; symptomatology, epidemiology; management of plant diseases; diseases of pome fruits, stone fruits, berry fruits, nut crops, grapevine and diseases that occur in several species of fruits.
    The outcome Acquiring skills in fruit tree and grapevine pathology, etiology and ecology of plant diseases; recognition of symptoms caused by biotic and abiotic factors in important fruit species and grapevine; team work methods, critical thinking, oral presentation, evaluation of teaching process.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures General part: development of plant disease; etiology, epidemiology and ecology of plant diseases; chemical and non-chemical protection of plants; Special part: diseases of pome fruits; stone fruits; berry fruits; nut crops; diseases of grapevine.
    Contents of exercises Basic properties of plant pathogenic fungi and pseudofungi, bacteria, phytoplasmas and viruses; symptomatology and diagnosis of plant diseases.

    Methods of teaching Lectures and practical classes along with interactive teaching will be applied. A total of two examination tests will be held during the semester: first after the the General Part, and second after the the Special Part. The colloquium is scheduled at the end of the lectures (1 in total). As part of the research work, students present a seminar on a selected topic.
