The goal | The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge about basic principles and analysis of physiological and biochemical processes in plants. The objective of the course is to enable students to independently organize experimental work, and use instruments and appropriate methods in accordance with the scientific principles of research. | |||
The outcome | At the end of the module, the students should demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical basics and principles of biochemical and physiological methods to research in cytology, water regime of plants, photosynthesis, respiration, mineral nutrition, plant growth and productivity, and physiology of fruit and seeds. | |||

Contents of lectures | Principles of scientific research. Theoretical bases of various analytical methods. Methods in Plant Molecular Biology. New methods in cytology, water regime of plants, photosynthesis, respiration in plants, mineral nutrition, plant growth and productivity, physiology of fruit and seeds, and effects of environmental conditions on the development and plant growth. | |||
Contents of exercises | Introduction to methods for testing biochemical and physiological processes in plants. Preparation of seminar work with elements of scientific research. | |||
