    The goal Acquiring: a) knowledge about the importance of mushrooms in nutrition, industrial cultivation of edible (champignon, oyster) and medically important mushrooms (ganoderma, shiitake); b) the ability to recognize the basic types of mushrooms, familiarization with the basic techniques of isolation, cultivation and identification of mushrooms, as well as practical cultivation in industrial conditions.
    The outcome - recognition of the characteristics of the basic groups of mushrooms - defining their role in the transformation processes of lignocellulosic substrates - understanding the influence of environmental factors on increasing yields - understanding of their importance in the production of nutraceuticals and as producers of biologically active substances - training for the mushroom production

    Contents of lectures Concept, historical development, significance of mushrooms; Structure, nutrition, reproduction, economy of cultivation; Obtaining pure cultures and starter cultures (mycelium); Cultivation of edible mushrooms; Characteristics, importance and cultivation of medicinally important mushrooms; Isolation and importance of bioactive substances; The use in nutrition and the production of nutraceutics.
    Contents of exercises The theoretical teaching is followed by the performance of practical laboratory exercises in the mentioned areas, as well as a visit to plants for industrial cultivation. The study research paper includes a detailed treatment of one selected type of mushroom.
