    The goal Basic knowledge/understanding of the structure and function of mites, mite reproduction and development, ecological diversity of mites, phytophagous mite-plant interactions, bioecological background of mite pests control, characterization of higher taxa of the Acari and economically injurious mite species in plant production.
    The outcome Knowledge/understanding of mite: morphology, anatomy, physiology, reproduction and development, ecological and species diversity; phytophagous mite-plant interactions, bioecological background of mite pests control, characteristics of higher taxa of this group of animals, as well as characteristics of the most common pest species and beneficial in plant production.

    Contents of lectures General morphology and biology, anatomy, reproduction and development; Ecological diversity and behaviour: adaptability to environmental conditions, trophical classification, phytophagous mite-plant interactions, symptomatology, capacity for population increase, types of dispersion, bioecological background of mite pests control, Systematics of the subclasses Acari.
