The goal The course should enable the student to acquire knowledge about the role of microbes in the processes of creating and maintaining soil fertility, the importance of microbes in the processes of element cycling and the supply of nutrients to plants, the complex interactions between plants and microorganisms, and the impact of agrotechnical measures on microbiological processes in the soil.
The outcome The student should be able to understand the role and importance of microorganisms in the processes of creation and maintenance of soil fertility and the circulation of elements in the complex interaction of microorganisms-soil-plant, to understand the importance of methods for determining the biological activity of soil as an indicator of the impact of agrotechnical measures on soil fertility.
    Contents
Contents of lectures The role of microorganisms in the soil, the distribution of microorganisms in the soil, the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on microorganisms in the soil, the role of microorganisms in the processes of humification and dehumification, and the cycling of biogenic elements. Plant-microbial interactions. The influence of agrotechnical measures on soil microbiological processes.
Contents of exercises Study research work will be organized individually depending on the topic of the doctoral dissertation, and will include the preparation and writing of a seminar or scientific paper.
