    The goal Acquiring knowledge and skills regarding the assessment of the importance of plant genetic resources, their distribution, collection, storage, management of resources in plant gene banks and their use, focused on organic agriculture.
    The outcome Knowledge about plant material that can be used as a source of genes for food and agriculture, as well as the methods by which this material is collected, preserved and used, especially for the creation of new varieties and organic agriculture.

    Contents of lectures Causes of genetic divergence between and within species, Biodiversity, Types of plant germplasm collections, Collection and preservation of plant germplasm collections, Use of plant genetic resources, PGR protection, Biopiracy.
    Contents of exercises Dangers of narrowing genetic diversity, Centers of plant diversification, Plant germplasm databases, Evaluation of plant germplasm in collections, Processing of plant germplasm data, Description and registration of varieties.
