      The goal Knowledge/understanding of structure and function, ontogenetic development, genetics, ecology and phylogeny of main phytophagous groups of mites
      The outcome Students should gain knowledge of: morphology and anatomy, physiology, development, ecology, and phylogeny of main phytophagous groups of mites and natural enemies and be capable to acquire and understand specificity of structure and function of the important groups of phytophagous mites and their natural enemies as the basis for exploring certain aspects which will be the object of dissertation

      Contents of lectures Introduction: Morphology, anatomy, physiology, ontogenetic development, cytogenetics, biology, ecology, evolution, and phylogeny of mites associated with plants (Tetranychoidea, Eriophyoidea, Tarsonemidae, Acaridae) and predatory mites (Phytoseiidae, Stigmaeidae, Laelapidae, Cheyletidae Acaridae)
      Contents of exercises Individual research work from certain chapters is intended, depending of the dissertation problem
