      The goal This course is aimed for students whose PhD thesis at least partly deals with nematodes. Students will be introduced to general methodology for field and laboratory work with nematodes, and trained in specific methodology necessary for his/her research.
      The outcome Acquiring knowledge of general methods for field and laboratory work with nematodes, and trained in specific methodology necessary for his/her research. This includes successful individual search through relevant literature and preparing a written seminar.

      Contents of lectures Principles and techniques of collecting samples.Methods of extracting nematodes from soil, plants, insects and slugs; Methods of preparing nematodes for further morphological microscopic and molecular expertise.Use of dichotomic and polytomic indentification keys for nematodes; Rearing nematodes for specific research aims; Basic experimental methods in nematology/
      Contents of exercises Study research Application of methods related to the study topics od the PhD thesis. Interpretation of results obtained using different methods.
